Jiangsu Province: Launching Special Actions for Cross-checking and Environmental Protection Joint Law Enforcement in Eight Cities along the Yangtze River


In accordance with the requirements of the deployment meeting for the joint protection and cross-checking of environmental protection and joint law enforcement in eight cities along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province on April 22, eight inspection teams have been quickly put in place, and inspections have been fully carried out. It is reported that the environmental protection departments and public security agencies of the eight cities along the Yangtze River shall be responsible for selecting the backbones of the business areas under their jurisdiction to form an inspection team with 10 inspection teams each, including 6 environmental law enforcement officers, 2 environmental monitoring personnel, and 2 police officers. From April 24 to May 23, a month-long joint effort was made to jointly carry out special protection and joint enforcement actions in eight cities along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province (Nanjing, Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou, Nantong, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, and Taizhou).


This special action is carried out in two stages: cross-checking and provincial supervision.

Hubei Province: In 2018, the first batch of provincial environmental protection inspectors started four inspection teams to enter the four cities and states.


With the approval of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, the first batch of provincial-level environmental protection inspections was fully launched in 2018. Enterprises that have hidden dangers in major production safety accidents shall be ordered to immediately stop production for business reorganization. Ministry of Ecology and Environment: Companies that cannot be upgraded will be closed down

Lead-zinc used in the process of earth-smelting¡ªlead smelting using earth-sintered plates, simple earth blast furnaces and other backward methods, roasting with earth horizontal tanks, muffle furnaces, and horse-baked furnaces, and simple condensing facilities for dust collection and other backward methods of smelting zinc or Zinc oxide products, which are now producing 2,000 tons of lead or zinc (or zinc oxide) per year.


7. Soil Refining - Small-scale oil refineries and indigenous refining facilities that have not been officially approved by the State Council; the production process is not in the closed-system refinery or in a tank-type distillation refinery; there are no environmental protection measures and pollution Refining companies that govern governance; oil refineries that do not meet national occupational safety and health standards.
